Times of India reports that SpiceJet has sacked one of its pilots after the chief air hostess complained to the airline management about the alleged sexual harrasment. The chief air hostess alleged that the pilot used inappropriate language, made her sit in the pilot’s seat and locked out the co-pilot leaving two of them alone in the cockpit of Boeing 737 for a very long time.
The same incident happened on both the legs of Spicejet’s flight to Bangkok from Kolkata and back. Apart from conducting its own investigation, SpiceJet has also reported the incident to India’s airline regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). If DGCA’s investigation finds the pilot guilty his license may be suspended which means the pilot will not be able to fly with any other airline.
With this incident and other where passengers had to spend an entire night in the aircraft without food or water. Per this tweet from @MazurChelsea passengers it seems even spent some time on the tarmac, SpiceJet isn’t having a very good week.
